Our History

The Church of God was established by Jesus Christ himself (Matt 16:15-18) and was empowered by the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-41)

The local Carmichael congregation of the Church of God started worshipping in the 1950s in a private home...

The Church of God traces its visible beginning to the arrival of the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, as promised by Christ. On the Day of Pentecost the Bible records that 120 of Christ's followers received power to successfully follow His missionary commission. Through God's power they became the first ambassadors of the Church. Church of God membership is established through personal repentance from sin, and faith in Christ as our divine Redeemer. People who experience salvation live holy and acceptable to God in this life.
