TEXT: ISAIAH 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
We must confront evil, (not people) to have power with God. God said ‘I’, “create evil.” For without evil, there is no choice. This is why God made evil. To give us a choice. We find in Luke 4th chapter that Jesus didn’t begin His ministry, until He had gained, fully, the power over Satan. Only humans can be tempted with evil. Here it was evident Christ was also a human being, because He was tempted by evil. So there is a lesson here, about making choices when confronted with evil. Jesus confronted the evil only after praying and fasting. This is how it must be for us. We have to confront evil after being alone with God. Perhaps to escape, but most importantly to commune with Christ.
Genesis 2:8,9 8And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. 9And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The need to confront and choose good or evil, has been with us from the beginning. It started in the Garden of Eden, …in the midst of humanity. When confronting evil, we are all presented with the choice to love, honor, and obey God. Jesus endured the temptation, and passed the test (again, Luke 4). We also can pass the test! The key is to walk in the Spirit of God. Romans 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. The moment we allow our self to “reason” about evil (walking after the flesh), is the moment we lose power over it!
Only by confronting the evil, can you gain power with God!
