Sunday Morning Podcast October 12, 2014. Bro. Geovel Molina.
Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the Most High:
The vows we owe to our Most High God, is the offering of gratefulness and thanksgiving. Just as Jesus fed the multitude of people, so it is even today. The people then didn’t have enough food, but He blessed all with the nourishment, (Matthew14:14-21). There is so much to be thankful for, for God today also gives pastors and ministry spiritual food to share with all that would hear His Word. Although we might not all speak the same literal language, we, if God’s children, speak the same universal and spiritual one. This water of God’s Word is abundant for all that seek it, for it is not affected by a literal drought.
From the beginning man has had much to be grateful, for the ability to offer unto God the incense and sweet savor of prayer, (Psalms 141:2, 2 Corinthians 2:15). In Genesis 4:3-5, we see the account of two brothers, Cain and Abel bringing their offerings to God. But it was Abel that God was pleased with, for his sincere thankfulness, and not Cain with his insincerity. Today our sincere offering is a spiritual one of gratitude, and thankfulness to God and not man. A service to God, for what He has already given, and the blessings He will continue to give us. Our already offered thanks is not sufficient, but only the continued offering due God, for what He daily gives.
Psalm 100:1-5 tells us to make a joyful noise unto God, with gladness, singing, praise, and thankfulness, …for His everlasting mercy unto us! For God’s children are a chosen people, …His Church! (1Peter 2:9). God’s people are not of a mere religious organization but one of a called out people to live holy, (2Peter 3:11, 1Peter 1:16). It is sad that too many don’t recognize this about God’s true blessings! To be faithful to God, you must also be faithful to God’s Church. How do we demonstrate our thankfulness? By being indebted to our fellow man with demonstrated, sincere love and affection towards them. Reaching out to those in need, with any ability we have to help.
Let’s keep seeking God, to continue our thanks and gratefulness …for all His goodness!
