TEXT: MARK 5: 28, 36
28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.
The Word of God has the power to make these scriptures challenge us, to bring the blessings that only our faith can open the door to. “If only I”…will believe. Active faith. Often religious people lose the full value of the gospel, and don’t achieve the realization of their needs being met. “If only I.” There is “that one thing” here in the scriptures that there was no possible solution for this woman with the sickness of her 12 yr long blood issue. Verse 26 “And had suffered many things of many physicians, and spent all she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse. “She had spent all her living on doctors in hope, but still never knew any physical healing or relief. When you fervently want the fulfillment of your needs, it will become necessary, like this woman, to give all you have to reach out, in an ‘active’ faith. “If only I.” If only I… what? “If only I” press and reach out to “touch Jesus!”
It takes great fervent faith, to believe God ‘will’ fully perform the answer to your needs, and then to experience His healing “touch.”. Also in this chapter, (verses 22-24, 35-42) we can read how a ruler stopped Jesus, to request (in fervent faith), that He visit his home to heal his daughter that was dying. Later, Jesus was able to go to the home, although he was told that she was already dead. When Jesus commanded the “sleeping” (dead) daughter to rise, she immediately arose, to the great astonishment of all in, and outside the house. These scriptures serve as biblical examples of how if we only will believe, God will perform great things that fulfill our needs. “If only I.”
Is your profession of faith genuine? Then, remember “if only I” reach out in active faith, to “touch” Jesus, the anticipation of my healing and spiritual needs of help, …will become a reality!
