TEXT: REVELATIONS 14:1-5
1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.
2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:
3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.
This is an important passage of scriptures for God’s people. Verse 1 says the “Lamb” stood on Mt Sion, and with Him an 144,000. In verse 5, it says “they” were without guile. Without guile, means without deceit. This symbolic 144,000 souls (Verse 3), were found guiltless, because their hearts were made clean by the Father’s name written in their foreheads, and redeemed from the earth. The 144,000 symbolizes God’s people. They are the redeemed, singing a “new song,” following the Lamb (Christ) …”whithersoever He goeth….”, (verse 4). Do you have this spiritual “experience?” You can! If you have it, never let it go! This is the experience we need to be sure that we have, before we “leave this world.” A new song. This new song is the expression of a new heart. A “new heart and song,” comes from a choice for holiness, that we must make personally.
Only God’s children on earth, (and not heavenly angels), can sing this song of deliverance. We must not allow ourselves to become so caught up with the day to day earthly activities that we neglect being able to sing this new song. We need to keep focused instead, on following after the heavenly, precious things of God. We must not allow anyone, family and friends included, to rob us of our spiritual focus. We cannot allow godliness to slide out of our life, by taking it for granted. The blood of Jesus will still cleanse, keep, and unite us, causing us to sing that new song of holiness. But ..if you allow Satan to creep back into your life with sin, you also will become of the devil, (1 John 3:8). None of us has time to waste spiritually, but instead have a need to stay close to Christ, living after His example.
None of us deserved that God benevolently sought to deliver us from sin. Christ’s merciful deliverance will only then come after we decide to give up our sins and selfish ways. To be able to sing the new song of Salvation, we must allow Jesus to teach us, and follow in His example. That new song, when sung, will give all glory to God by our life void of disobedience. If you are a follower of Jesus, your life will sing of that new song, …one of deliverance from sin.
Are you singing a song of sins buried, with a life raised up to newness and holiness? You can!
