TEXT: JUDE 1:1-3
1 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:
2 Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
Many are spending their life and money, (or contending for) the things of this world, and reaping a life in the midst of wickedness. But in faithfulness, Jesus will reach out when one is not looking for Him. It will be a day that hope can be found, where there doesn’t seem to be any. When allowed, it will be then that Christ can lead us to Salvation, in an experience of godly steps, to replace the paths of sinful ones. Salvation’s path (in the kingdom of God), is one of faith that must be contended for, or pressed into ( “….since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.” Luke 16:16). You don’t just stumble in.
To earnestly contend for the faith, you must want God and His kingdom, more than anything or anyone else! If you don’t contend for the faith that is in your soul, who will? The world is depending on our testimony of faith. Through the many obstacles we face, God’s help allows us to be a witness for Him. There’s a need to be qualified witnesses and representatives. Qualified by actually knowing Jesus personally. Not everyone does. Only those who never let anything, or anyone come between them and God.
