TEXT: EZEKIEL 20:19-22
19 I am the LORD your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them;
20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.
21 Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.
22 Nevertheless I withdrew mine hand, and wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth.
God’s judgements are meant to be walked in by grace, and not according to our fleshly perceptions. God’s judgements are what separates sin from holiness, divides God’s wisdom from personal wisdom. God’s judgements will hurt now, so that we can stand clear before Him. God’s judgements will examine whether our personal judgements are well placed, or lacking. Strength comes from humility, which is a willingness to be judged by God. God’s judgements will keep us from getting an attitude about the message bearer, which causes one to be the loser spiritually. God’s judgements will prevent getting a personal pride about one’s religion, which is offensive to Him. God’s judgements won’t let you say that you love Him, and then live like a sinner, or commandment breaker.
The judgments of God will do three things. Number one, it will separate us from harm or hurt. Two, it separates so that we can be united and joined to Him. Three, God’s judgement clarifies out of confusion, a clear path of the way we should go. If you know someone fighting the judgements of God, they are fighting against clarity, and for confusion. Pray for them, that God will help them to see their need to be separated from sin. When any do not choose to live by them, God’s judgements will bring, by necessity, division amongst even our own family, (Luke 12:51-53). Judgements of God will unite and join you to the source of your strength, which is Christ. Only God’s judgements provides us with the wisdom of what our next move or step should be, and with a reputation of victory over sin. God’s judgements will keep you sweet, separating you from any bitterness that would poison your soul.
If you’ve been saved for any length of time, go back to the judgement lessons learned. That’s where your spiritual strength will be defined.
