TEXT: I CORINTHIANS  1:26  For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

Are you going through life without a calling?  What is your individual calling from God?  Are you living within it?

Many are living without being called by God.  Today, more often, you hear only of the personal goals and details people have for this temporal life. But of a God given purpose and calling, you hear very little.  For that awareness is largely gone.  People often are occupied with higher aspirations of this life, and not an individual, spiritual burden for life, and growth in God. Essentially, many are living without God’s individual calling. “Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works but according to his own purpose and grace which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.” 2 Timothy 1:9  God’s calling to us is holy, and not for personal gain.

The world and Satan want to belittle God’s calling for us.  Are we instead turning to listen for God’s calling? Not just from before, but also today?  If we neglect to listen to God, we will become deaf to His voice, and stay in confusion.  He individually speaks and calls to each if we listen. Too often we focus on our limitations.  But it is God’s purpose to work in us through them.  Not according to our opinions, and thoughts, but through His holy plan.   If we listen and obey, He will reveal His plan for our life.  To those without Him,  God is calling them to Salvation and deliverance, from the ways of self and sin.

When was the last time God spoke to you about your life?  What have you done with it?  Things of this life are often meant to distract us from God’s calling, that would be a hope for souls around us.   Get alone and connect with God and what He has already shown.  Listen to Him.  To listen to His calling, is to get spiritual understanding.  Don’t be so wrapped up in the daily affairs that you miss hearing Him.   If you aren’t listening, will you be able to hear Him?  Examine where you stand before Him.

What is your calling specifically? His purpose for you? Are you living for His calling?
