TEXT: MARK 9:38-40
38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
40 For he that is not against us is on our part.
NUMBERS 11:25-29
25 And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.
26 But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp.
27 And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.
28 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.
29 And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD’S people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them
The above scriptures tells that there were some that cast out devils and prophesied for God, but appeared not to be of the “recognized” children of God. Jesus and Moses both, exhorted the naysayers, not to forbid or envy them. They exhorted that those that were casting out devils, and prophesying in God’s name were not against Him, even though not known to them. Jesus, and Joshua both exhorted those challenging this, that God’s Spirit is not exclusive to those of our understanding.
How do I know I’m in the “right place?” Some are looking and asking this, and we need to have a ready answer. Some may not be known to us, that are known to God. Jesus said don’t rebuke them. One cannot be against God, if they obey Him. Who can claim they exclusively speak the truth for God? Yet some falsely claim that they do. The place of Truth seeks a message to deliver sinners, that are dying all around us. The message will bring a Salvation from sin. There’s no need to get into a debate or argument regarding religion. For everyone that listens to Truth, is listening to God. All searching for Truth will find it. Mere religion wants us to follow a “form,” rather than a message of deliverance from sin. A ritual will not produce Truth, holiness, or Christ. It will not show the right place, of where God’s Spirit should be.
Satan also knows God’s Word, and attempts to make one “think” they possess Truth, while being led on the wrong path. If a path doesn’t set you free from sin, don’t follow it! We will only get to the right place by seeking with all our heart, and not letting self hinder. If the way we attempt to approach God is with pride and confusion, we won’t find Him. For to find a place of Truth, we must first allow God to examine our hearts. All other places are vanity, hopeless, and sin bound. Thank God those that earnestly seek, will be led to the “Right Place!”
