TEXT: HEBREWS 6:17-20

17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Keep holding on. We have a hope, because of our anchor!  Anchors hold and grip on, in the sea of life  …even in the fiercest of storms.  Anchors stay where we choose them to stay when we are brought to fear.  Fear is the presence of incomplete information, …an uncertainty. The world is often full of fear.  And fear manifests itself in so many ways.  Fear for our future.  For our loved one’s future.  For our death and loved one’s death, etc.  We can’t avoid fear.  We all are affected by fear. But you can live with fear if you manage it. Not by your own wisdom and strength.  But by the anchor found through Jesus our pilot.  We can only access it when we repent of our wisdom, and access His anchoring wisdom. With Jesus at the helm, we will never sink.

We are given the choice to hand over the helm to Christ.  For our own wisdom will never be sufficient.  With the anchor of Jesus , we can “Hold on” in the direst of tragedies.  But we must first get our anchor off deck and into the sea of our life; transferring our fear over to Jesus when it comes, (“Casting all your cares upon Him”).  Transferring all the risk and fears of your life to Christ, will enable you to hold on to Him as the only ‘true’ anchor!  Handing over our life’s control to Jesus as our Pilot, is to repent, then release to Him all our burdens.  Letting Him take care of all our needs!  If you say Jesus is your pilot, don’t take back the helm.  Don’t return to those things Jesus saved you from!  To do otherwise, is to make shipwreck of your life.

Allow Jesus to take the helm. Transfer your fears to Him, and keep holding on!
