TEXT:JOSHUA 1:5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
The Israelite’s had come to fight against a army of, and in, a foreign land. The job was monumental but they were assured that God would not leave them, but instead fight with them against the enemy with victory. This promise was given only to God’s people, and not to those who will not obey and love Him. Without love and obedience, there is no connection to God. Today, it is also important that God’s people love Him, so they keep their attachment to Him. God promises this connection for all those who humbly seek Him with their whole heart. “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw night to you…..” James 4:9
Often sinner and saint alike can suffer from a sadness and feelings of detachment from God. Of course the sinner feels a detachment from God because he is! Detachment from God brings a loneliness, …an isolation that can often bring a feeling of depression. How does detachment for a saint come? Because they also are human. If a Christian in their trial stay isolated too long, the more exposed to the tricks they become from the enemy! Isolation comes from losing sight of God’s promises in the hardest of trials. The longer they stay isolated, the more detached they will become from God. Because, they are now separated from God’s promises of help. But God wants us to find rest unto our soul (attaching to Him), and to remember that He said “My yoke is easy, and My burden is light!” (29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11).
If you seek God, but then don’t move into His Will, Satan will bind you, and keep you from attaching to God. Pride will keep you back. But If you by humble faith move forward, toward Him, God will help you reconnect (attaching to) with Him. Only saints (becoming saved) will be able to find eternal rest in Jesus. But we must pursue after Christ. Only then will He draw nigh, so we can find and connect to Him. Remember no matter how the Christian feels, God wants them to stay, or reattach, to Him. “Sinners… allowing yourself to be vulnerable through repentance, will bring you an attachment to Jesus. Remember…wise men still seek Him!”
Attaching to God…..
