TEXT: MATTHEW 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
And… the power. Each word is chosen by Christ. The strength of God is of unlimited power! God is infinitely more powerful than the universe and ALL in it. More …than we can ever imagine. It is sometimes hard to grasp the possibility of one attaching to that! It is good to get out of our limited thinking, so we can understand how our hope is in that power. It is God’s power that gives us the opportunity to worship Him. When Jesus prayed in the garden, His humanity was in agony to overcome and finish what He had come to do. Without fully attaching to God’s power, we will fail to overcome, and fall to spiritual destruction. It is only through God’s power, that we can be lifted up to do things, we could not do ourselves. We need to be empowered to fight our adversary, for he to wants to destroy us! But we need to first began, so we can grow, then determine to persevere to endure, and finally to then conquer. But you can not have endurance or determination without roots. “And have no root in themselves, and so endure, but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.” Mark 4:17 But God’s power is what will make the difference!
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19 Is there anything with the Spirit of God, and power that we cannot overcome? God gave Jesus the option to spare Himself from the cross. That would have been a disastrous result for all mankind. He loved us so much though, he chose to sacrifice His flesh on the cross. God gives us all also this choice, to crucify our flesh, or turn back. If because of sin, we become disconnected or detached from His power, there is nothing left but to once again repent, if we want to be restored to it. And Jesus loves us so much that He will restore us so we can live righteously by His power. That connection and restoration is having an encounter with God! “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” Psalms 23:3
Do we love others so much that we would be their example of how to live in God’s power? Our encounter with God should be demonstrated in our words, actions, attitude, etc, and be motivated by His love. Crucifying our flesh, or be defeated in our soul. The cross will bring a glory, because we need and choose to die to the flesh. To spiritually nail our flesh to the cross. When we suffer for Christ, it sets the eternal plan, to raise us up! This alone offers us hope, strength, and power. It brings us the victory! And it is only with God’s strength, that we can go in His power. The shepherd boy David had victory over the giant enemy Goliath, because he in love obeyed, which connected him to God’s phenomenal power and strength!
The great power of God is unlimited and phenomenal to change our life, and help us to endure!
