TEXT:LUKE 2:41-51

41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.

42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.

43 And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.

44 But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day’s journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.

45 And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.

46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

48 And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.

49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

50 And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

51 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

The Lord needs godly mothers to stay faithful.  Not every fine mother, is a godly mother.   In the above passage,  Jesus’s parents realized after 3 days, that He was not still with them.   What must Mary have felt, with her son missing?  This must have been hard!  This message is more about Mary than Jesus, for the mother symbolizes the humanizer, …the nurturer.

10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.   27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.  28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.  31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gatesProverbs 31  The world today, as a whole, is so often angry, divided, etc., making the institution of a mother, especially a godly one, so important.  Too often today, the humanity of people in spirit are beastly, as animals, without the care, sympathy, and the nurturing of holy values.  In these times of those choosing to be without God, society is unraveling as a result.  Too few acknowledge that leaving God out, has brought society down.  Too many are not learning the virtues of a godly mother.   Nor the nurturing values that would teach the world empathy.

1) The world is not honoring God.  2) There is a lack of godly mothers.  3) We need older godly mothers to teach and encourage the  younger mothers to also be a godly example. To nurture children to raise up a humanizing generation.  These are the main 3 reasons that godly mothers are so desperately needed.  God chose Jesus to be born of a mother, to be nurtured of all His human needs.  Part of a infant being nurtured is through the mother’s eyes looking into her child’s eyes with love.  This is part of how their bond is established.  This is also how the spiritual mother, the church, nurtures and bonds with new converts,  …by their close contact.   If you have this, don’t let the world and sin take it away!  Keep it sacred!  There is no doubt that the woman is essential to be a mother.  We should never not see the value of being a nurturer.  The world in error has taught that women should be valued as men, to be like them.  But God created woman in benevolence to be the nurturer, …to be a godly mother.  A godly mother’s hope is found in God.  When found in the midst of tragedy and sorrow, they can go back to Christ.  So they can nurture, or help other souls out of their personal tragedies.  To touch and instill hope in the heart of a “child.”
