John 14:13,14 13 “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
Do we believe this completely? Do we? If we shall ask anything? Then we’re going to need to ask big to prove it. We will need A Proclamation of Faith…..
TEXT: MARK 9:14-27
14 And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them.
15 And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him.
16 And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them?
17 And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;
18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.
19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
20 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.
22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.
27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.
We need God to have compassion on us. “And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.” What was Jesus’s response? Verse 19 “ O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me. Jesus rebuked the presence of unbelief. “O faithless generation!” This rebuke came before the healing, …before casting out the foul spirit! Why? That men and women might understand the importance of believing in the power of God! That’s why! Bro Danny Sanders shared some civil war history, (to see a testimony of this history, https://amberandchaos.net/?p=54 ): In 1863, General Daniel Sickles was wounded by cannon fire and had to have his leg amputated. President Lincoln greatly prayed for the civil war, and Gettysburg and Vicksburg became a victory of twin cities. President Lincoln also prayed for General Sickles, and testified of the peace God had given him through his faith in prayer. Lincoln believed in the importance of the power of God! And was rewarded with victory! President Lincoln demonstrated confidence beyond all odds. This soldier ” General Daniel Sickles” was given a small chance to survive, yet he, (at least in part because of Lincoln’s full faith in prayer to God), lived to 1914, another 51 years! Hebrews 10:22 tells us to draw near with a true heart in full assurance to God. This means to be deeply convinced! Are you deeply convinced? “Straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming,” (verse 20). We need to know that there is no doubt that the devil is out to destroy! To destroy us by unbelief! Satan will never make the process easy. He doesn’t want us recognize the Spirit of God that will heal! Do you believe in the power of God? ” I believe; help thou mine unbelief !” (verse 24) Jesus spake a parable that “men ought always to pray, and not faint.” Luke 18:1
Do you believe in the power of God, and His compassion? In this parable Jesus tells of an unjust judge, that had mercy on a widow that needed to be avenged of her adversary. (Luke 18:1-8) “And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?” (Luke 18:7) “ I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8) In Luke 18:35-43, A certain blind man sat by the wayside, begging. (verse 35). ” And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.” (verse 38) Sometimes we have to beg to show our faith in God’s compassion and power! It’s okay to “beg.” No matter how impossible, or complex the need, God can answer! What’s your need? Will you choose to have the faith to receive for your every need? Whether it’s for Salvation, or any other problem? If you bring it to Jesus with full belief and faith, He will not deny you! We must not doubt God’s ability to deliver! “And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea, and it should obey you.” Luke 17:5,6 Faith as small as a grain of a mustard seed! That’s all God requires!
Do You Believe in The Power of God for Your Need? Really? Bring it unto the Father!
