TEXT: MATTHEW. 6:9-13
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
We want to help the Kingdom to be built, in earth as it is in heaven. There is “an earth” that is “us,” and we will return to the earth when we physically die. But while on earth, (and beyond), our desire is to Jesus, and our personal experience, as God having His way in “our earth,” of our hearts and lives. To have an experience, that is from Heaven. The meeting of Heaven and earth, is meant to meet here, we are meant to display this while here on this earth. There will be no meaning to others of God’s kingdom otherwise. We cannot say “Blessed Holy Be Thy Name” unless our heart says “Amen” to His Will. “Hallowed be Thy Name” …is what God wants from each of us this morning. Our agreement here, to have a genuine experience of “heaven on earth.” “Blessed be Thy Name!” will cost us, if we truly mean it. There’s much opposition all around us, in our individual world. Often we can find our trials to be too much of a fleshly nature, from our everyday obligations, and pressures, in our very existence. It happens because of being too materialistic. If the enemy can get you to focus on that, the spiritual side, (Heaven meets earth), will become of much less importance! So if anything “goes wrong,” it can “take you out!” Out of the race to make heaven our goal, in Salvation. When people are materially focused….they can easily be overthrown! “Children how hard it is for them that trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God!” Mark 10:24 We need to focus on how blessed we are, no matter how negatively we are affected by material setbacks! Blessed be Thy Name that has given us so much mercy, and “heaven while here on earth!” God…I need to hear from Heaven now, should be our prayer! Thy Kingdom come!
Often in the Old Testament, kingdoms referred to literal earthly ones. But in the New Testament, it predominantly is referencing “The Kingdom of God” of a spiritual context. “The kingdom cometh not with observation,” “And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation. Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:20,21 “Repent ye, ” for The kingdom of heaven is at hand!” Matthew 3:2 John the Baptist was preaching here, even as Jesus was starting His ministry. He came before Jesus to prepare the way. the Kingdom was at hand…..almost here now! It will take a humble and broken spirit, and not proud, ..to enter it. “And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted and become as little children, ye shall not enter the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name, receiveth me.” Matthew 18:3,4 Humility goes so deep to bring a spiritual greatness, of being one with God! When the Lord saves us from our lives of sin, and pride! Pride acts as a defense. Humility is not something that we often grow up with. And humility is willing to accept correction …a great attribute. God knows we need to be humble to allow our will ….to die for God’s Will. “Thy kingdom come, Thy Will be done (in earth as it is in heaven!” ). So then things change! They don’t change when we won’t submit our will. Surrender your will for His! For a Heaven in earth experience! Thy Kingdom come!
Thy Kingdom Come! Thy Will Be Done! In earth, as it is in Heaven!
