TEXT: MARK 16:9-20
Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.
And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.
And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.
After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country.
And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them.
Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
We often hear, “God is everywhere.” And in one sense, He is everywhere! He can do whatever He pleases with no restrictions..unless He restricts Himself, ..for He is God! We need to understand what that means. It means you can’t get away from God no matter where you go, ..He can follow you. But as far as God’s presence, and His working, He doesn’t work everywhere. There are certain environments, and circumstances that hinder God from working. We as the Church of God, need to be careful that our lives don’t hinder or restrict Him. He will only do what we allow Him by our faith. As long as their is unbelief, God cannot do what He would for us. In a desert heart environment, nothing from God can grow. But when with faith the heart is cultivated and exercised, nothing is impossible with God that He will do for us. It is our responsibility to provide those faith fertile conditions. God needs a holy body to work through. “For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that upon the face of the earth.” Deuteronomy 7:6 “The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways. Deuteronomy 28:9 We must be obedient to keep His commandments, to be His holy people. God has declared that we are a sought out people, and He is ever reaching out for more souls also. “And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shall be Sought out, A city not forsaken.” Isaiah 62:12 God didn’t add us to religion, but to Salvation. NO man can put you out! Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!! Holiness is a beautiful thing! To have an environment for souls to be saved, it must be holy. 19 “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his, And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonor. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.” 2 Timothy 2nd chapter.
Envying, and strife hinder God from working. Often we are the worst offenders and hindrances of all. Never take what God does, for credit for yourself. We are laborers together with God. We are all equal in God’s sight. We should never be working against each other. I Corinthians 3:1-9 Unity. Christ prayed that we would all be One, as He was with The Father, John 17:21,22 They were all in one accord, and unified in love, Acts 2:1 They were not “throwing stones at one another,” accusing one another. If this is us, what God can do? Here 3,000 were saved on Pentecost. Perfect harmony. This is what God loves, and how He wants to work with us today. Paul beseeched us to walk worthy, with all lowliness, meekness, forbearance with love for one another. Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit, in the bond of peace. For there is one body, Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling in one LORD, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all, Ephesians 4:1-6. We also need a greater travail and burden for the lost. We as the Church of God are to be the arm of Christ to reach souls for Him, Isaiah 66:8 We need help and the wisdom of God to work for the lost to see them saved. A clean unified body, and ministry will reach souls! If it is not clean and unified, God cannot work, and nothing shall be done. Although we remain human with faults, we are yet still to be blameless before Him. In another words, doing all we know. Doing our best for Him. Then God can use you! Not self willed. Not condemning, but preaching the truth in love. Reproving, and rebuking only in love and long-suffering. Preaching the word by leaving nothing out, and adding nothing to it. Love others with a pure heart fervently. God wants an environment to give Him a place to work. We are either hindering God from working, or creating an environment for Him to be able to work. God needs a Body of Christ to work through!
