TEXT: ROMANS 1:13-17
13 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.
14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.
15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; Why no shame? For there is no failure in the gospel of Jesus! The gospel of Jesus Christ will change you! It will make one new! Paul was a learned, highly educated man connected to the political powers of rule. But he came to find much more power when he surrendered to Jesus Christ, God’s very own Son! The gospel of Jesus Christ will also change you, if you also surrender your all. It will be then that your heart and life will be transformed! The gospel of Jesus Christ will change anyone who gives their all. We know God can then help, which will then provide hope for us. IF you believe in the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, it will work when there seems no hope. Just as in a temporal example of when penicillin was introduced for medical help. It was “the miracle” to “banish” diseases. So also is Salvation for the soul. Salvation is the hope to give you victory over sin with no failure, for the power to please God! “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” John 1:12 God will give you the hope, and power of Jesus, if you let go of all the fleshly interferences in your life. People are not God, so don’t put your hope in them! People will let you down…but God never will when you trust in Him. Trust is to let go of your negativism and fear, and is to have hope.
There is victory and not failure in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and nothing you will ever need to be ashamed of, …because He will not fail! The devil will remind you of your human failures, but you must remember Jesus doesn’t find fault, and will be the power in your life,when you trust and obey. Many religious people “claim” it, but don’t actually possess it. There will sometimes be “defeats” along the way on the Christian path of growing, but you can always have real victory in Jesus. God will help you, with whatever you need help with! When the multitudes followed Jesus, it was often also for the loaves and fishes. But if one follows after the life of Jesus, He will supply all your needs for His Glory, if you will only follow and obey Him. “ 9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be no deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor effeminate, not abusers of mankind of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 These things should be gone if you really follow Christ. Only His power is real, and not your own religious thoughts. There is a hope, and power to deliver from all sin, found only in the gospel of Jesus Christ! We all have opinions, but those opinions are not the gospel of Jesus! The gospel of Jesus Christ is what the world needs! In the past you were bound! But now you are freed from your sin, through the Power of God, if you have surrendered to the gospel of Jesus! “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 Don’t ever lose the hope found only in Jesus which would deliver you. Man will always fail you, but Jesus never will. Keep your eyes on Jesus’s love and power!
