The only way the world can know we have something different is if we are one with one another like Christ was with God. [John 17:20-23] We may have differences of opinion on some things, but it doesn’t matter. God doesn’t want there to be division. Being one with Christ means we have the same cause, the mission as Christ. Everything needs to be, “what would Jesus do?”
You must be sanctified to have the mind of Christ. If we have the mind of Christ, there will be a desire to see souls saved. We will have an active part in some outreach of the congregation to reach souls. Jesus had a real burden for the lost. For us to have the mind of Christ, we must have a burden too. When we get sanctified, there will be a burden for souls being saved.
The carnal mind is not subject to the law of God. You will never have an experience of the mind of Christ if the carnal nature is there. [Rom 8:5-7] What are some things that cause division? Self-will; Someone wanting to elevate themselves; Personal issues.
“I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.” John 5:30
Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.” John 7:16-17
“He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.” John 14:24
Did Jesus speak his own words? He said the words that he spoke were not his. He spoke God’s word. The whole bible is God’s word. Everything that Jesus had, was from the Father.
“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.” Phil 2: 3
When a person lifts themselves up, they are wrong.
“Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.” Phil 2:4
The mind of Christ is unselfish. Jesus willingly laid down his life. He left heaven and came down lower than what we have been. He came down as a servant.
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12: 1
If our body is not given as a sacrifice to God, we will never be sanctified. A sacrifice is something we have no strings attached to. If you don’t have the mind of Christ, you can get it.
