God wants us to do everything heartily, like we’re doing it for him. That means 24 hours a day. The bottom line is diligence. Diligence: with an attitude of excellence and enthusiasm, persistence, perseverance, hard work. Colossians 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Faithfulness is not optional. You can desire to be better all you want, but unless there’s an effort to be faithful nothing will happen. Proverbs 13:4 The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” I Corinthians 4:2
Proving ourselves trustworthy is important in order to be able to recognize what a trustworthy person looks like. To be a trustworthy Christian doesn’t require us to do any special thing or be in any special position.
The class expressed that there is a need today for people to grasp hold of what “faithfulness” really means.
