“He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.” Proverbs 28:26
We can’t follow our heart because it can distract and deceive us so we have desires that are contrary to God. Our heart is our whole being, our mind, our thoughts, and our spiritual intentions. Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there […]
“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23-24
It’s important to know where our treasure is because that is where we’ll focus our time and energy. Matthew 6:19-21 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth […]
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23 What does the word – keep, mean? It means hang onto, not let go, preserve. We are going to have to put forth the effort to keep our heart with all diligence. What is diligence? Diligence is persevering, […]
In the beginning God created…
In this world we live, I think people tend to forget just who, how and why the things that they are struggling with, is because of how things have been set from the creation of the world.
If you asked someone can you change the seasons, they would probably say no. Can you change the color of the sky, no. How about the clouds, the sun, how the planets are arranged in the sky, or how many stars are in the sky, what color are the trees, and we could go on and on. Things have been set since the creation of time and they were created by God. He is the only one who can change any of those things if he wants to.
God has in his heart, for his faithful child, a holy love that is strong and passionate and he is jealous over us.
We have heard the commandment:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and all thy soul and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength… Mark 12:30
But as we endeavor to keep this commandment, as with any love affair, when we see the same passionate love being exercised toward us from the heart, it makes it easy to love back.
So many things surround us and can crowd out the spiritual life. God has always expected to be first in our love, service, and in everything we do. This is not a hard concept to understand, but can be hard to fulfill.
And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail. Revelations 11:15-19
