It can be difficult to address the sin of another without them, feeling that, “you are better than them.”
When dealing with unsaved family, it is important to keep in mind 1st Corinthians 13:4 “Charity suffered long, and is kind…” We must try to treat people with long-suffering and kindness. The Lord long suffered and still long suffers with us. The Apostle Paul stated in 1st Timothy 1:15-16 “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all long-suffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.“ Paul said he was chief of sinners, but Christ showed him long-suffering so that he could be delivered from his sin.
