Submit: yield to somebody else’s control, to give into another’s knowledge, judgment, or experience. We can only be successful resisting the devil if we submit to God. James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. God is in the business of impossible situations.
Paul was chained when he was in Mamertine prison’s dungeon. There he had someone write his words, that we’re not given fear but power and a sound mind. A sound mind is calm, disciplined, self-controlled, and wise in making decisions. II Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of […]
Let is a command word when God says it. God said, “Let there be light: and there was light…” (Genesis 3:3). Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. To rule is to have charge of something. […]
Charity is the bond that binds us together. It’s our choice that we make to put on charity by acting in love. Colossians 3:12-14 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have […]
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28
God wants true worshippers that will worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:22-24 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father […]
We need the mind of Christ. There are several characteristic of the mind of Christ. Jesus was of the same mind of God. There was no contention between them. Jesus didn’t want his own way: they were one.
“If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” Phil 2:1-8
“But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father shall send in my name, he shall teach you all things…” John 14:26
The early church came to a decision about how they would deal with the Gentiles. All the apostles were involved in the decision. They had an order about how they went about to resolve the issue. These people involved in the dispute were recognized as people who believed.
The end decision was based on, “it seemed good to the Holy Ghost and to us to place upon you no greater burden”. (Acts 15:28) The Holy Ghost bore a lot of weight in terms of influence.
