There’s many that have a Christian profession. Sometimes the church, doctrine, ritual, or teaching becomes a substitute for holy living. This doesn't require an experience (possession), which is most important.

Acts 19:1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11

Luke 3:8 The baptism of repentence is the beginning.

Acts 2:4 When they heard of the concept of sanctification, they obeyed. With a filling of the Holy Spirit, all receive gifts necessary for the Kingdom in that moment. The Holy Spirit filled their lack. The gift, or type of gift, was not the proof of the Holy Spirit. Later, Paul did not receive a gift of languages with the Holy Spirit; he received different gifts.

A follower of Jesus meant also a follower of the Holy Spirit.

What possesses me? One can be possessed by self, the Holy Spirit, or an evil spirit. Am I possessed of the Holy Spirit?

Ephesians 5:31,32 In marriage, there is an understanding and agreement to “possess” each other. God doesn't ask for any less.

There is a witness of the Holy Spirit.

  1. I am drawn to God.
  2. I am adopted and my spirit is changed.
  3. I am devoted to God - body, soul, and mind. His Spirit dominates.
  4. I walk in the fruits of the Spirit.

John 6:41,42,43,44 Unless we are drawn by the Holy Spirit, we can’t be saved. Does God still draw on my heart?

Romans 8:16 We are adopted into the family and His Spirit bears witness that we are his child. Do I have a conversion story?

Romans 8:26,27 When the Spirit of God possesses body, soul, and mind, we can be healed of our infirmities.

When the Spirit is close enough to possess us dramatic things happen to behavior and attitude. In times of stress and trouble, invite the Holy Spirit to strengthen your mind!

Galatians 5:16 The spirit and the flesh war against each other. If I am living and walking in the fruits of the Spirit, this will be a witness. His Spirit will dominate my flesh.
