Golden Pillars Testimonies

Today we are giving testimonies with scriptures that have helped us.

Sister Leslie: Her favorite scripture reassures her of God’s love and that he hears when she calls. He takes time for her. This is a promise God has for all of us. Just to know that God hears will help carry her through the trials. God acknowledges her as a person that has meaning. He hears and it’s not just for the big things. He hears each one and is able to make each one feel special because he’s our Father. A good father shows no partiality. He hears each of us when we cry, whisper, or even when we moan inside for the trial we’re going through.

Psalms 22:24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.

Sister Karen: They always go away around the end of the year and have a time to reflect. They ask God to help them go into the New Year with a new spirit and desire for God to use them in helping souls. This year God woke her up with the scripture that God gives her power over all the power of the enemy. It has encouraged her every day as God has spoken to her through that scripture. When the devil comes in like a flood, the scripture is in her mind for power over the enemy. She takes the nugget of that special scripture and God uses it to help her.

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Brother Danny: At the gym a man asked how he was doing. Danny replied, Every day above ground is a good day. The man said he was looking forward to a different world, but to not get him wrong because he didn’t believe in the pearly gates and streets of gold. Danny thought of how he’s not ashamed of the gospel. He told the man he does believe in the pearly gates and streets of gold. What we have is real and we need not be ashamed of it!

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

Sis Lily: The scripture came to her because it’s her desire to live for God, to draw closer, and to please to him. The verse came to support her in what she was doing for God. The enemy wants to destroy but God gave her an amazing week!

Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

Brother Dave L: God helped them to look at something just in time and then worked out something better. God does things for us all the time and we sometimes forget all the benefits of salvation.

Brother Rick: There was a time in his life when the enemy was leading him around by the nose. He made a decision and chose God. Now he’s of God and not of the world so God is greated in him than the enemy who is in the world.

I John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Brother Jessie: He especially thanks God for the day he humbled himself to God and God revealed the truth to him. He always knew Jesus came to save us from our sins but never thought it possible until God revealed His Church to him. In His church we live a holy life without sin and like he wants us to live. God gives us grace to live this way every day.

1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Sister Diana: They hit a religious barrier that kept them from reaching some of their family. She was praying and asking God what to do. She received directions through recent messages for how to handle the situation. She was able to talk to the family about seeking God with their whole heart and forgetting about the organization they belong to. Instead they should ask God to search their heart to see if they’re doing all they know to do. It was a way to get through the barrier that made them seem unreachable but God made a way.

Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Sister Pam: The scripture helped her go through difficult, hard, sad trials. God delivered her from her sin and the things she was bound by. God helped her put on the garment of praise when she was feeling heaviness in the trials. We don’t feel good in the trials but the scripture says we “put on” and there’s an action by us. Instead of putting on garments of weeping and sorrow, we have to put on the garment of praise. In every trial we can find something to praise God about. We’re praising God for still being saved, having peace in our heart, and all the other treasures we can take to heaven.

Isaiah 61:1-3 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

Sister Edith: She’s thankful for how God has helped her to stay saved for all the years. She’s also thankful that God gives us grace to go through every trial and situation with victory in our heart. We don’t have to give into the enemy.

1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Sister Cindi: As homemakers, sometimes we feel that our labor is in vain. It’s encouraging that what we do for the Lord will last and it’s not in vain. It’s always been her desire that no matter who else is moved or gives up, or whatever else happens that the Lord will help her be stedfast and unmoveable.

I Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Sister Una: Her neighbor died suddenly and it brought to mind a scripture she remembered from her childhood. God doesn’t always warn us but he comes as a thief in the night. To remember this helps us walk closer to him every day.

I Thessalonians 5:1-3 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

Brother Philip: He had a tooth extraction. There was a lot of pain and an infection. God came to his rescue, worked a miracle, and helped the dentist find the problem. God spared him a worse procedure and he feels great now.

Sister Rita: The scripture was Nehemiah’s response to the enemy when they tried to discourage him. In a monumental task at work, she realized God can help her in the work just like he helped Nehemiah. The enemy didn’t have a heart to help Nehemiah in his work. God wanted Nehemiah to look to him. It’s an encouragement to that God helped Nehemiah when he didn’t know what to do. Because they kept God involved in the project to build the wall, God prospered and helped them to get it built. She appreciates how God can use scriptures from so long ago to encourage us today. People haven’t change but neither has God. The same Spirit that blessed and helped them long ago can help her today.

Nehemiah 2:20 Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.

God is faithful in every trial to be with us, no matter what! God will fill the gap of whatever we need to do.
