Rev 22:8 When John saw all the great things, he had a desire to worship.
It should make me uncomfortable if the glory is directed at me. We weren’t created to be worshiped. Glorify God!
Exaltation of people does damage. Have I made famous the wrong person? God knows how to handle exaltation and honor. Humans don't and begin to demand and prohibit things when there is a sense of authority.
Philippians 2:5,6,7,8,9 Jesus Christ, being God, did not hoard or hold onto being God. He stripped himself and put on the robe of a servant.
John 13:1,2,3,4 Jesus took time to speak with Peter; He told Peter that he was strong and faithful. It was unusual that Jesus, the Master and Lord, would kneel and wash each one. Judas was waiting and Jesus knew he was robbing Him. He showed great love by washing his feet. Perhaps Jesus was thinking, “Maybe with this type of love he will repent.” Is there anyone that I couldn’t wash their feet? Do I feel they don’t deserve it. I must learn to forgive.
Matthew 11:29,30 Learn of me. I am meek and humble. Take my yoke. Learn from the one who knows how to forgive and love.
Is there anyone I need to ask for forgiveness? Is there someone I need to forgive?
Matthew 26:53 When the soldiers came to take Jesus, Peter pulled a sword. Anyone would want to right such an injustice. When Peter saw this he thought, “Do you not know he just finished washing your feet? You are ungrateful! I will hurt you!” Jesus said, "Don’t you know I can pray and my father can send angels? It is the greatest thing that I have the resources to hurt them and I will not. I’m going to leave all things in the hands of God. I will not take vengeance into my own hands."
Am I treating others with a love like Jesus had for Judas?
