Isaiah 9:1,2 It’s God's intention to illuminate my path.
Hebrews 10:1,2,3 The law is a shadow of good things to come. A shadow can be a good thing; it can mean safety and shelter.
Genesis 1:3,4 God separated darkness and light. He create something out of nothing.
1 John 1:7,8 I know what I have if I walk in the light.
It is difficult to anticipate danger in the darkness and shadow.
Some ways of teaching Christianity are shadowy. The “sinner saved by grace” teaching leaves people in the shadows. There is not full light where a shadow is. There is only some illumination. Walking in the shadow is not the same as walking in the light.

John 5:14 Stay in the light.
1 John 3:4,5,6,7,8,9 Sin is doing wrong when I know to do right.

Matthew 4:16 Jesus offered a way to live in the light.
Moving from the shadows into the light could result in guilt and shame. Jesus doesn’t want to hurt me or for me to fail. He will help me walk in the light. From here, I practice walking in the light and don’t go back to the shadows.
I am in fellowship with God in the light.
