Am I thankful?
Being thankful is good for physical and mental health. Expressing gratitude overrides the problem-solving brain.
Am I thankful for the things in my life? Do I thank others for what they do for me? For what they do for others?
The devil works in my mind when things aren’t going like I hoped and when I face upsetting situations. He wants me to do something that is unhealthy (stress, unhappiness). He dosen’t want me to be healthy.
In the Old Testament, the words used for thankful (yadah, todah) mean acknowledging what is right about God in praise and thanksgiving.
In the New Testament, the word “eucharist” means giving thanks.
What if God didn’t take time to bless me because I didn’t take time to be thankful.
Jesus noticed there was only one that came back to thank Him. He was aware that there were nine that did not. I also am a recipient of healing. He does many things for me. I owe Him thanks.
Sometimes life can be difficult. Being thankful can help me.
If only… is like a disease. It is choosing to only see the negative side of life. Make a thankfulness list instead of complaint list!
Thankfulness is a mindset; it doesn’t depend on the circumstances.
When the Israelites became unthankful and discontent, it always resulted in negative consequences.
Thankfulness leaves no room for discouragement and complaining.
