Philippians 2:5,6,7,8 Jesus was laid in a manger, a feeding trough. He had a meager arrival.

Philippians 2:5,6,7,8 This is a contrast to many today, trying to gain an audience and views and likes. His life wasn't about self-promotion. He had great humility. He was an example of lowliness and sacrifice.

James 4:6 Jesus is still attracted to humble places and people; he is not drawn to ego and arrogance and pride.

The Prince of Peace

Isaiah 9:6,7 This describes what the Savior will be like, the essence of Jesus.

Prince is a word that describes a person in the highest and most exalted position.

Peace in this context means “spiritual harmony brought to the individual’s relationship with God.”

A prince is the head of war and peace (the military) and the safety of the people. There is a spiritual war between good and evil in every aspect of society. It’s present all the time. This isn’t very peaceful. Every generation has felt the war between good and evil.

In the midst of the war and anxiousness, Jesus offers peace. When there’s a fight against good and evil, the Prince of Peace always wins.

Freedom comes at a cost; someone is paying the sacrifice for others. Jesus paid the ultimate price and sacrifice.

John 14:27,28 The world is obsessed with finding a feeling of tranquility. We should want that feeling, too, but the peace Jesus brings is different.

Romans 5:8,9,10 “I’m not an enemy to God I just don’t want to serve him right now.” If one isn’t saved, they are the enemy of God and can’t have the peace of Jesus. There is no power to resist the devil so he flees, to choose good over evil, to forgive others, to tell others about God.

Romans 5:1,2,3,4,5,6

Jesus fulfilled the peace that was promised.

John 16:33 The Prince is the leader and He has overcome the evil.

Philippians 4:4,5,6,7,8 When I am an enemy of God, I can’t comprehend the peace I could have.

Am I at war with God? Is Jesus my Prince of Peace? Have I accepted His sacrifice?
