Psalm 59:16 David was singing aloud; he was not questioning why he was being pursued, even as the Lord's annointed.
The Eternal Flame
It’s in the nature of a fire to go out. It needs fuel, oxygen, and heat to light (combustion) to continue.
In the Old Testament, fire was used in multiple ways throughout the tabernacle (sacrifice, lamp, incense).
Leviticus 6:8,9,10,11,12,13 The priests had to attend to the fire.
John 5:35
Matthew 3:11
Acts 2:1,2,3,4
Acts 2:41
Acts 4:4
Revival happened many times in the Bible, even in the Old Testament. This is when an individual with a spark transfers this spark to others and creates a flame.
Do I think I'm on fire for God, but only feeling heat from those around me? The fire must be personal to me.
Revelation 3:16
Luke 10:38,39,40,41,42 Mary was feeding the fire.
John 12:1,2,3
The best way to keep fire burning is by not making excuses. Excuses extinguish the fire for God. My thoughts about my own humanity in the past may extinguish, but I can run to God to rebuild the fire.
Acts 28:3 Paul put sticks on the fire to burn. Even in a difficult situation, I must feed the fire.
God creates and sends sparks to my life to keep the fire alive. Am I aware of the sparks? Sparks only last briefly. It’s my responsibility to keep the fire going.
The devil uses busyness and negative news to put out the fire. Even if I don’t feel like it, I must use discipline and go to church, read the Bible, pray, etc. Schedule in these priorities during the day! That’s how to put the sticks in the fire.
It is God's intention that there is an eternal flame in my heart.
