A City to be Conquered

Luke 19:28,29,30,31,32,33,34,35,36,37,38

Zechariah 9:9,10

As Jesus approached the city on a donkey, the disciples announced His good works. It was the week before Passover and the city was busy and full. He would “conquer” the city by His death, but the Jews thought He was there to deliver them from the rule of Rome.

Just as Jerusalem was a holy city where God met His people, God wants to meet me in my “city” and dwell in the “inner room” of the temple of my life. A city has characteristics; each of us have traits and complexities.

In spiritual conquest, there are not winners and losers. God conquers sin and death.

2 Corinthians 12:8,9,10 This is counterintuitive. Our natural inclination is to desire to be strong.

Humility and transparency shows a great confidence in the Savior. He is my strength, I can walk in the spirit. I don’t need to conquor anyone else in the moment of humility.

Nehemiah 8:10

In physical therapy, the room is full of “broken” people working hard to overcome their weakness. All recognize it may be a slow process to complete recovery. Although no one wants to be seen as weak and faulty, don’t stop going to "therapy" when it seems like the process is slow.

When allowed access, the spirit of God scans constantly for any threat (similar to an anti-virus software). Pride and fear cause me to disable this protection; this turns off God’s access and makes me vulnerable.

Has God conquered my city?
