Sitting at the Table with Jesus

Luke 19:1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 Zacchaeus was a tax farmer, collecting money for the empire. He wanted to see Jesus because he was already repenting before he climbed the tree. In verse 8, he submitted to the law of Moses as part of his repentance.

When I want to get close to God I need to get out of the crowd, which might feel like acceptance or safety. This could be a physical “crowd” or a crowded frame of mind.

What was Jesus busy about in the two weeks before the resurrection? Traveling between Jericho and Jeruselem teaching and healing. What am I busy about? If I find myself busy in the right things, I will be satisfied.

Sometimes I need to pause and climb a tree and wait for Jesus to pass and communicate with me.

John 10:39,40

John 11:1,2,3,4,5,6,14,15,16,17,18,43,44, Jesus had the power to raise Lazarus, who was physically dead.

John 12:1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21

It is the nature of God to give life; it is nature of Satan to take life. I have to move in time and space to go from “death” to "life" and get what I need from God.

God is present, not the future or the past. This allows me to be at the table with Jesus.

Am I seated at the table with Jesus, conversing with Him? The law of Moses condemned and dismissed from the “table.” The law of Christ is acknowledgement and repentance, mercy, and the heart's subjection to God's law.
